A meeting of the Liturgical Commission of the Berlin-German Diocese was held in Berlin

On June 26, at the Diocesan Administration of the Berlin-German Diocese in Berlin, under the chairmanship of the ruling hierarch of the diocese, Archbishop Tikhon of Ruz, a regular meeting of the Liturgical Commission of the Berlin-German Diocese was held.

The main attention during the meeting was given to issues of the further development of the veneration of saints who have shone forth in the German land. Taking into account the existing veneration of local saints of the first millennium in various regions of Germany, the commission approved for further study and preparation for possible inclusion in the Council a list of 34 ascetics of faith and piety.

Issues of liturgical practice in the parishes of the diocese were also considered. In particular, the commemoration of saints included in the Council of Saints who have shone forth in the German land during Divine services was discussed, as well as a number of other issues related to parish liturgical practice.

In addition, the participants of the meeting discussed preparations for the publication of a bilingual service book in Church Slavonic and German. Following the discussion, it was decided, after the completion of editorial work, to publish the service book in pocket and analogion formats, according to the website of the Berlin-German Diocese.
