Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk Meets with Hierarchs of the Orthodox Church of Cyprus

On 22^nd July 2026, Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, while on his work trip to Cyprus with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’, visited the Metropolis of Morphou of the Orthodox Church of Cyprus. Metropolitan Neophytos of Morphou extended a warm welcome to the DECR Chairman at his residence in Evrychou.

Later that day, Metropolitan Anthony visited the Metochion of the Kykkos Monastery in Nicosia. There, he had a brotherly meeting with its abbot, Metropolitan Nikiforos of Kykkos and Tylliria.

At the conclusion of his trip to Cyprus, the DECR Chairman met with Metropolitan Athanasios of Limassol and, accompanied by him, visited the Cathedral of Virgin Mary Pantanassis.

Discussed at the meetings were various matters of inter-Orthodox relations.
