His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ sent a message of greetings to His Holiness Mar Awa III, Catholicos-Patriarch of the Assyrian Church of the East, on the 5^th anniversary of his enthronement. The text of the letter is given below.

His Holiness Mar Awa III, Catholicos-Patriarch of the Assyrian Church of the East

Your Holiness,

Please accept my heartfelt greetings on the 5th anniversary of your election and accession to the ancient Throne of Primates of the Assyrian Church of the East.

In your life and ministry, Your Holiness have devoted yourself entirely to selfless labours for the good of your flock. You are renowned as a courageous defender of the Gospel values who supports the efforts aimed at strengthening inter-Christian ties and champions interfaith peace and concord in Iraq and the entire region of Middle East. Cherishing warm memories of our meetings and conversations, I hope that the fruitful cooperation established between our two Churches and peoples will continue its progress to the praise of the glory of God (cf. Eph 1:12) and for the edifying of people in all goodness and righteousness and truth (Eph 5:9).

Taking this opportunity, I wish you good health and unceasing help from God in your important and demanding Primatial ministry, and I wish peace and abundant mercies from the Heavenly Lord to your flock.

With love in Christ Jesus,

+KIRILL
PATRIARCH OF MOSCOW AND ALL RUS’
