His Holiness Patriarch Kirill Chairs Regular Meeting of Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church

On 14^th May 2026, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ presided over a regular meeting of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church held at the Patriarchal and Synodal Residence in St. Daniel Monastery in Moscow.

The Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church opened the meeting by greeting all those present. The Synod members got down to work in accordance with the meeting’s agenda, reports Patriarchal Press Service.

Taking part in the meeting were:

· permanent members of the Holy Synod: Metropolitan Vladimir of Chișinău and All Moldova; Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, head of the Metropolitan Area in the Republic of Kazakhstan; Metropolitan Vikenty of Tashkent and Uzbekistan, head of the Central Asian Metropolitan Area; Metropolitan Varsonofy of St. Petersburg and Ladoga; Metropolitan Pavel of Krutitsy and Kolomna, Patriarchal vicar for the Moscow Metropolia; Metropolitan Veniamin of Minsk and Zaslavl, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus; Metropolitan Grigory of Voskresensk, chancellor of the Moscow Patriarchate; Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations; and Metropolitan Nikandr of Vladimir and Suzdal, chairman of the Finance and Economic Administration of the Moscow Patriarchate;

· temporary members, namely, Metropolitan Konstantin of Cairo and North Africa, Patriarchal Exarch of Africa; Bishop Stefan of Kanash and Belovolzhka; Bishop Mitrofan of Gatchina and Luga; Bishop Sergy of Novorossiysk and Gelendzhik; and Bishop Serafim of Biysk and Belokurikha.
