DECR Chairman Presents Church Award to Russian Diplomat

On 25th June 2026, at the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, DECR Chairman, met with Mr Sergey Andriashin who, having served as Russia’s Сharge d'Affaires ad interim in Iceland from 2023, now concluded his diplomatic mission to the country.
Metropolitan Anthony presented to Mr Andriashin the Order of the Holy Right-Believing Prince Alexander Nevsky, 3rd Class. The award had been conferred on the Russian diplomat by His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ in consideration of his contribution to promoting church-state relations and on the occasion of his 50th birthday.
Mr Sergey Andriashin expressed his deep gratitude for such a high commendation of his diplomatic work.
After the award ceremony, Metropolitan Anthony and Mr Andriashin had a conversation, taking part in which were also Archpriest Igor Vyzhanov, DECR Deputy Chairman, and Archpriest Timofey Zolotusky, Rector of the St. Nicholas Stavropegic Parish of the Moscow Patriarchate in Reykjavík, Iceland.
