Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk meets with Lukoil President V. Alekperov

Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s department for external church relations, visited on 18 February 2010 the Lukoil public corporation for a talk with its staff and a meeting with its president V. Alekperov. Participating in the meeting were also the company’s personnel director A. Moskalenko, public relations director A. Vasilenko and his deputy, as well as Lukoil Charity president, Ms. N. Alekperova.

The Lukoil president thanked Metropolitan Hilarion for this talk with his staff, which provoked a lively interest.

Metropolitan Hilarion, in his turn, thanked Mr. Alekperov for the long-standing cooperation with the Russian Orthodox Church and charitable support Lukoil has given to various projects. He also spoke about the international work of the Russian Orthodox Church and forthcoming visits of His Holiness Patriarchal Kirill of Moscow and All Russia to the near-abroad countries. They exchanged opinions about some other matters of mutual concern.

In conclusion of the meeting, Metropolitan Hilarion presented Mr. Alekperov with his book ‘Patriarch Kirill: His Life and Worldview’.
