His Holiness Patriarch Kirill sends greetings to Primate of Albanian Orthodox Church on anniversary of his enthronement

His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ extended greetings to His Beatitude Archbishop Joani of Tirana, Durrës and All Albania on the anniversary of his enthronement. The text of the letter is given below.

HIS BEATITUDE JOANI

ARCHBISHOP OF TIRANA, DURRËS AND ALL ALBANIA

Your Beatitude,

Beloved Brother in the Lord and Concelebrant at God’s Altar,

On behalf of the plenitude of the Russian Orthodox Church and on my own behalf, I wholeheartedly congratulate you on the anniversary of your accession to the Throne of Primates of the Albanian Orthodox Church.

By the will of God, which is good and acceptable and perfect (Rom 12:2), you were called to this lofty service for building up the body of Christ (Eph 4:12). Having taken on your shoulders this heavy cross, you became a worthy successor to His Beatitude Archbishop Anastasios, whose name is associated with the revival of the Albanian Orthodox Church. Inspired by his example and striving to ensure spiritual growth of the clerics and flock entrusted to you, you tirelessly and boldly preach the word of truth.

Taking this opportunity, I wish you good health, peace and generous help from God in your further Primatial ministry for the good of the Holy Orthodoxy.
