The DECR Chairman Met with Members of the Commission for Dialogue Between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Ethiopian Church

On June 5, at the premises of Holy Trinity University in Addis Ababa, Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk met with members of the Commission for Dialogue Between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Ethiopian Church. Participating in the meeting were: Archbishop Abune Philipos of South Omo, Co-Chairman of the Commission; Priest Daniel Seifemichael, Secretary of the Commission from the Ethiopian side; Archimandrite AbbaHailegebriel Girma, Vice-Rector of Holy Trinity University; and Hieromonk Stefan (Igumnov), Secretary of the DECR for Inter-Christian Affairs and Secretary of the Commission from the Russian Orthodox Church.

The parties discussed issues relating to the implementation of current projects within the framework of bilateral inter-church dialogue, as well as new areas of cooperation that emerged during Metropolitan Anthony’s discussions with the hierarchy of the Ethiopian Church.
