DECR chairman meets with a Slovakian Parliament member

On December 2, 2011, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, head of the Moscow Patriarchate’s department for external church relations, met with Slovakian author Sergej Chelemendik, a deputy of the Slovakian Parliament, who came to Russia for the parliamentary elections as a PACE observer. They met at the DECR.

They discussed matters of mutual concern, including the implementation of a project for translating into Slovakian the book by His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All “Freedom and Responsibility”. The project was initiated by Mr. Chelemendik.

Participating in the meeting were also Archpriest Igor Yakimchuk, DECR secretary for inter-Orthodox relations, and Mr. A. Byalko, first deputy editor-in-chief of the “Priroda” (Nature) magazine.
