On 27^th September 2026, the Feast of the Universal Exaltation of the Precious, Glorious and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord, Archbishop Simon of Brussels and Belgium celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Exaltation of the Cross in the Ardennes.

Concelebrating with the hierarch were Archpriest Pavel Nedosekin, rector of the Exaltation of the Cross Church; Priest Adrian Alaoui, rector of the Church of the Protection of the Most Holy Mother of God in Brussels; Priest Dimitri Yatsun, rector of the Church of the Holy Theophany in Mechelen; and Priest Andrei Popa, rector of the Church of the Holy Righteous Anna in Laeken, Brussels; as well as Deacons Yaroslav Makal, Maxim Burla and Ilya Toncu – clerics of the Holy Trinity Church in Brussels.

In his archpastoral homily, His Eminence spoke about the greatness of the finding and exaltation of the Cross of the Lord, emphasising the importance for the faithful to bear with gratitude their cross wherever the Lord ordains them to serve or work.

All those who attended the divine service partook of the Holy Mysteries of Christ and then shared a meal prepared by the parishioners, reports the website of the Diocese of Brussels and Belgium.
