DECR Chairman meets with Minister of Tourism and Antiquities of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan

On September 11, a meeting was held at the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate between DECR Chairman Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk and Imad Na'im Hijazin, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

Representing the DECR were Archpriest Igor Vyzhanov, Deputy Chairman of the DECR, and Priest Andrey Titushkin, staff member of the DECR Secretariat for Foreign Countries.

Representing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation was D.A. Trofimov, Deputy Director of the Department of the Middle East and North Africa.

The Jordanian side was represented by Khalid Shawabka, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Jordan to Russia; Alexander Toropov, Honorary Consul of Jordan in Yekaterinburg; Majd Abu Argoub, Jordan Tourism Representative in Russia; Anastasia Markaryan, Assistant to the Honorary Consul of Jordan in Yekaterinburg; and Arwa Mahadin, Representative of Royal Jordanian Airlines in Russia.

Metropolitan Anthony welcomed the distinguished guest and those accompanying him.

During the meeting, which took place in a friendly atmosphere, the participants discussed a number of issues falling within the scope of their common priorities.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties exchanged commemorative gifts.
