Patronal feast of the Church of the Nativity of the Mother of God in Busan celebrated with Archbishop Theophan of Korea presiding

On 21 September 2026, the Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos in Busan celebrated its patronal feast.

On the eve of the feast, Hieromonk Theophan (Pozhidaev) celebrated Great Vespers with Litiya.

On the feast day itself, Matins and the Divine Liturgy were presided over by Archbishop Theophan of Korea, concelebrated by Hieromonk Theophan (Pozhidaev). At the conclusion of the service, the prescribed mnogaya leta were proclaimed.

The Liturgy concluded with a homily by the hierarch, in which he congratulated the parishioners on their patronal feast, the Korean Diocese press service reports.

After the service, Archbishop Theophan, concelebrating with Hieromonk Theophan (Pozhidaev), celebrated the Sacrament of Baptism on the shore of the East Sea for a native of the Republic of Korea who had completed an extended period of catechumenate and received the baptismal name Silouan.
