Representative of the DECR participates in Interreligious Scientific-Practical Conference

On February 25, the International Scientific-Practical Conference titled "Muslims in the Defense of the Fatherland: Historical Feat and Modern Challenges" was held in a hybrid format at the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation. The event was organized by the Spiritual Assembly of Muslims of Russia (DSMR), the Commission of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation on Interethnic, Interreligious Relations, and Migration, with the support of the Foundation for Islamic Culture, Science, and Education, and the Muhammadjan Khusainov Islamic Institute.

Among the main topics discussed by the conference participants were the historical role of traditional religions in Russia and modern challenges, the activities of Muslim communities in strengthening national unity and interreligious dialogue, cooperation in the patriotic education of the younger generation, preserving interethnic unity in Russian society, and the collaboration of traditional religious institutions with state authorities.

Zorin; staff member of the Synodal Department for Cooperation with the Armed Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies, Archpriest Dimitry Solonin; Hero of the Soviet Union, Monk Cyprian (Burkov); representative of the World Islamic League in the Russian Federation, Dr. Ahmad Faisal; Deputy Head of the Department for Interaction with Religious Organizations of the Presidential Directorate for Internal Policy, A.R. Fayzullin; Deputy Head of the Department of National Policy and Interregional Relations of the City of Moscow, Head of the Department for Relations with Religious Organizations, K.L. Blazhenov; Rector of the Muhammadjan Khusainov Islamic Institute, A.R. Adygamov; Head of the Section for Work with Religious Military Personnel of the Military-Political Directorate of the Eastern Military District, O.V. Radchenko; First Secretary of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Russian Federation, I.A. Almazbekov; and other representatives of state authorities, the scientific and expert community, religious organizations, youth and public associations, veterans of the Great Patriotic War, and participants of the special military operation.

With the blessing of the Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, Metropolitan Antony of Volokolamsk, a staff member of the DECR, Hieromonk Gregory (Matrusov), participated in the conference and delivered a speech in an online format.
