Report on church relief efforts in Kursk and Belgorod regions for 9th September

On 9th September, 1,284 people (321 families) appealed for help to the Church Centre for All-Round Social Relief operating in the Trinity Convent in Kursk. In total, 16,969 people have sought assistance at the Church Centre since 16th August, diaconia.ru reports.
On 9th September, the aid-seeking families received cleaning products and food packages. Provided upon request were pillows, blankets, bedclothes, folding beds, stationary, 12 tonometers, a glucose meter, walking frames, 2 canes and a wheelchair. Three families asked for help in finding accommodation and work. In great demand among those who appealed for aid were folding beds.
The Church Centre received 18 tons of humanitarian aid: 15 tons came from the Barnaul Diocese, 2 tons from the Business Russia Public Organization, and a ton from the Diocese of Sergiyev Posad. Saint Demetrios of Thessaloniki Church in Kursk sent 300 packages of cleaning products. The Kinel Diocese, the Church of the Entry of the Mother of God into the Temple in Saratov, the Synodal Department for Charity and the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug sent diapers, bedclothes, toys, hygiene products, stationary and foodstuffs.
Thirty-eight volunteers worked at the centre that day. Four families got help from volunteer drivers.

Since 6th August, 763 people (259 families) from the Kursk region and 21 people (8 families) from the Belgorod region have appealed for help to the Moscow Headquarters for Refugee Assistance operating under the Synodal Department for Charity.
Since 6th August, the Moscow Headquarters has received 1,585 aid deliveries from churches, monasteries and concerned Muscovites.
On 9th September, 25 people (9 families) from the Kursk region and 2 people (1 family) from the Belgorod region sought assistance at the Moscow Headquarters. Compared to the day before, the number of families seeking assistance slightly increased. All those who appealed for help are staying with their relatives and friends. All the families received humanitarian aid (foodstuffs, hygiene and cleaning products and school supplies). Upon request, folding beds, mattresses, pillows, bedclothes, blankets and kitchenware were provided.

Since 6th August, 221 people from the Kursk region have appealed for help to the Church Headquarters for Refugee Assistance located in Saints Martha and Mary Convent in Belgorod.
On 9th September, 75 families sought assistance at the Church Headquarters in Belgorod. Two more families called its hotline. Receiving humanitarian aid (foodstuffs, hygiene products, bedclothes, pillows, blankets, clothes) were 177 people: 166 people from the Belgorod region and border areas, 6 people from the DPR, the LPR and Ukraine, 5 people from the Kharkov region.

Fifteen volunteers and one staff member of the Synodal Department for Charity have been working in three temporary accommodation centres and one hospital in the Kursk region.

Priests from various dioceses in Russia visit Kursk hospitals on a regular basis. Since 9th August, there have already been 5 shifts with 5 priests from 3 dioceses.

The Training Centre of St. Alexis Hospital has organized a first aid training course with elements of tactical medicine. Its first students are 32 volunteers who help evacuate civilians during missile alerts, transport the wounded and work in hospitals. Next group is due to start training in October. The course is organized with assistance from the Kursk Diocese.
