Prayer service for rain and end to fires in Russia held in Jerusalem

On August 3, 2010, Archimandrite Isidore, head of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem, held a prayer service for rain and end to the fires which have become a real national disaster in Russia. The service took place at the Church of Holy Martyr Empress Alexandra.

The Holy Land is well aware of the danger brought by high temperatures which cause wildfires. Thus, quite recently the woods over the Gorneye Convent in Jerusalem caught fire. It was extinguished by aircraft; the convent was not affected.
