Your Holiness,
I cordially greet you on the occasion of your 65th birthday and congratulate you on the 5th anniversary of your election to the Patriarchal see.
The years of your Patriarchal service are marked not only with the flourishing of the spiritual life of the Coptic Church in Egypt but also the strengthening of her role and authority in many countries of the world, in which your flock reside. Showing tireless concern for the God-commanded Christian unity, you also give considerable attention to the development of relations with the Moscow Patriarchate. It is gratifying that as part of the work of the Commission for Dialogue between our Churches, cooperation has been maintained in a whole number of areas. Remembering with warmth the latest meeting with you in Moscow in May, I hope that our fruitful and beneficial interaction will be continued.
I wish Your Holiness good health, spiritual fortitude and God’s most abundant help in your lofty and important ministry. Many good years be to you.
