On the Feast of the Nativity of the Mother of God, Archbishop Tikhon celebrates the Divine Liturgy at Berlin’s Resurrection Cathedral

On the 21st of September 2026, the Feast of the Nativity of Our Most Holy Lady Theotokos and Ever-Virgin Mary, Archbishop Tikhon of Ruza, Administrator of the Berlin-German Diocese, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Resurrection Cathedral in Berlin.

Concelebrating with the hierarch were Archpriest Georgy Antonyuk, Dean of the Eastern District; Archpriest John Dorosh; Archpriest Ilya Chirin; Priest Alexander Vassil; and Deacon Konstantin Lotikhius.

At the conclusion of the service, the clergy celebrated a glorification in honour of the Feast of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos. Archbishop Tikhon congratulated those who had attended the service on the feast.

According to the diocesan website, in recognition of his many years of devoted service and on the occasion of his 85th birthday, Archpriest Mikhail Divakov, Secretary of the Diocese and Sacristan of the Resurrection Cathedral, was presented with a Patriarchal award - the Order of St Sergius of Radonezh, First Class. The choir sang Mnogaya leta (many years) for the pastor.
