Metropolitan Mark of Korsun and Western Europe undertakes first archpastoral visit to Portugal

On 25th April 2026, the Divine Liturgy and a general meeting of the clergy serving in Portugal took place at the All Saints Parish in Lisbon, website of the Diocese of Spain and Portugal reports.
Officiating at the Divine Liturgy was Metropolitan Mark of Korsun and Western Europe, Patriarchal Exarch of Western Europe, administrator of the Diocese of Spain and Portugal. It was His Eminence’s first visit to Portugal in his capacity as Patriarchal Exarch of Western Europe.
Among Metropolitan Mark’s concelebrants were Bishop Peter of Kaffa, vicar of the Patriarchal Exarch of Western Europe; Archpriest Ioann Gerbovetsky, dean of the parishes in Portugal; Hieromonk Nikolai (Borsky), rector of the All Saints Church; Deacon Gleb Zaika, secretary of the Diocesan Administration; and clergy of the Portuguese parishes.
After the dismissal, the archpastor delivered a homily on the Gospel reading of the day.
Hieromonk Nikolai (Borsky), rector of the Church of All Saints, congratulated Metropolitan Mark on his confirmation as Patriarchal Exarch of Western Europe and thanked the archpastor for his attention to the parish in Lisbon and the Portuguese flock in general.
After the Liturgy, Metropolitan Mark presided at a meeting of the clergy of the Portugal Deanery. The meeting focused on various topical issues concerning the life and activities of the Orthodox Christian communities in Portugal.
