Metropolitan Hilarion of Budapest and Hungary takes part in events involved in Patriarch of Serbia’s visit to Hungary

On September 3, Metropolitan Hilarion of Budapest and Hungary was invited by Bishop Lucian of Budima, Serbian Orthodox Church, to come for the thanksgiving at the church of St. George in Budapest. The thanksgiving was presided over by His Holiness Porfirije, Patriarch of Serbia, who came to Hungary on an official visit. After the service, the Primate of the Serbian Church greeted the assembled representatives of Local Orthodox Churches and spoke about the history of the Diocese of Budima making a special mention of the outstanding services done by Bishop Lucian for its management and congratulated him on the 20th anniversary of this tenure at the see.
In the evening of the same day, Metropolitan Hilarion was present at the grand reception given in honour of Patriarch Porfirije by Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in the Republic of Hungary I. Todorov.
During his talk with Patriarch Porfirije, Metropolitan Hilarion told His Holiness about the life of the Moscow Patriarchate Diocese of Budapest-Hungary making a special mention of the longstanding good cooperation with the Diocese of Budima of the Serbian Orthodox Church. They exchanged opinions about other issues of mutual concern.
