Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations, sent a message of greetings to His Beatitude Archbishop Anastasios of Tirana and All Albania on the anniversary of his enthronement. The text of the letter is given below.

Your Beatitude:

Prayerfully concelebrating with you on this memorable day, I wholeheartedly greet you on the anniversary of your accession to the Throne of Primate of the Albanian Orthodox Church.

By your tireless labours and prayers, with the goodwill of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Church of Albania, which endured many sufferings over the years of persecution, is reviving in its past glory. Having taken on your shoulders a heavy cross of Primatial ministry, you have not weakened in your zealous efforts, edifying the people of God in the Gospel truths derived from the riches of your wisdom and taught with charity “out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned” (1 Tim 1:5).

I wish to Your Beatitude good health, spiritual strength and almighty help from Christ the Saviour for many years of peaceful and blessed Primatial service.
