His Holiness Patriarch Kirill sends condolences over natural disaster in the Philippines
His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia expressed condolences to H.E. Benigno Aquino, President of the Republic of Philippines, over many human victims and large-scale destruction caused by the typhoon.
His Excellency Mr. Benigno Aquino, President of the Republic of Philippines
Your Excellency, dear Mr. President:
The news of the horrible typhoon, which has roared onto your country, echoed with pain in my heart as the natural disaster had claimed thousands of human lives, smashed homes of many people and caused great damage to national infrastructure.
Sharing the grief of the people of the Philippines, I offer up prayers to the Lord for granting strength, courage and moral fortitude to the victims and hope for the soonest liquidation of disaster consequences.
May the Creator of the world console and strengthen all those who have lost their relatives, loved ones and friends and who found themselves without shelter and in humble circumstances.
With sincere condolences,
Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia
