A Representative of the DECR Took Part in an All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference in Makhachkala

From April 28 to 30, 2026, the All-Russian scientific and practical conference “The Unity of the Peoples of the Russian Federation as a Factor in Strengthening the National Security of the State” was held in the Republic of Dagestan. The organizers of the event were the Dagestan Humanitarian Institute and the Foundation for the Support of Islamic Culture, Science and Education.
The aim of the conference was to discuss current issues of interethnic and interreligious interaction, the role of spiritual and moral values in ensuring the stability of society, as well as to develop recommendations for strengthening the unity of the multinational people of Russia.
On April 29, sectional sessions of the conference were held in Derbent, in the conference halls of the Derbent Museum-Reserve and the Museum of the History of World Cultures and Religions.
On April 30, a plenary session was held in Makhachkala in the assembly hall of the historical park “Russia – My History,” attended by the Chairman of the Muftiate of the Republic of Dagestan Murad Ismailov; Deputy Director of the Foundation for the Support of Islamic Culture, Science and Education A.V. Petrov; Rector of the Dagestan Humanitarian Institute N.D. Bakhmudkadiev; Rector of the Russian Islamic University named after Kunta-Haji A.A.-M. Mutushev; Deputy Chairman of the Council of Alims of the Republic of Dagestan M.Z. Magomedov, and others.
With the blessing of the Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, Hieromonk Grigory (Matrusov) took part in the event. In his speech, he addressed issues of the diversity of the peoples of Russia, their cultural and religious characteristics. The importance of studying the culture and religion of one’s neighbors was emphasized, which also contributes to a deeper understanding of one’s own faith and helps prevent conflicts and radicalism.
