Cleric of the diocese of Thailand attends international consultation on inter-Christian relations in Asia.

With the blessing of the Patriarchal exarch for South-East Asia the metropolitan of Singapore and South-East Asia Sergius, temporary administrator of the diocese of Thailand, the dean of the Saint Nicholas Cathedral in Bangkok in the Kingdom of Thailand and chairman of the missionary and publishing department of the diocese of Thailand hieromonk Paisius (Ipate) attended the international consultation of the Christian Conference of Asia that went under the title of “Inter-Christian Relations in Asia: Ecclesiastical and Inter-Christian Landscapes Come to the Fore”.
Attending the event, which was held from 31st May to 3rd June 2026 in the Thai city of Chiang Mai, were more than seventy participants from Australia, Bangladesh, East Timor, Indonesia, India, Cambodia, China, Laos, Malaysia, Burma, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Korea, the USA, Thailand, the Philippines, Finland, Sweden, Sri Lanka and Japan, representing various Christian denominations, reports the telegram channel of the Patriarchal exarchate for South-East Asia.
Those gathered discussed the challenges facing the churches of the region and the tendencies in the development of the Christian presence in Asia. At the consultation issues were also raised concerning mission, interreligious relations and the work of the churches in the diaspora.
