Exhibition on Russian Orthodox Church’s contribution to Victory in Great Patriotic War opens at Russian House in Ankara

On 28th March 2026, an exhibition entitled “The Russian Orthodox Church During the Great Patriotic War” opened at the Russian House in Ankara, Turkey, highlighting the Church’s contribution to the victory in the war.
Among items on display are unique archival photos and documents from the Victory Museum that tell about the selfless service of the Orthodox clergy during the war years and about the role of Patriarchs Sergius and Alexy I, reports Telegram channel of the Russian Centre for Science and Culture in Turkey.
Opening the exhibition were Mr Alexander Sotnichenko, head of the Russian House in Ankara, and Priest Georgy Sergeyev, rector of the Church of Saints Constantine and Helen at Russia’s Consulate General in Istanbul, who is responsible for providing pastoral care to the Moscow Patriarchate’s believers in the territory of the Republic of Türkiye.
Parishioners of the local Orthodox community were the first to see the exhibition.
