Representatives of Russian Ecclesiastical Mission pray with Patriarch Theophilos at the Patriarchate of Jerusalem church

On June 3, the commemoration day of the holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Emperor Constantine and Empress Helen, his mother, archimandrite Vassian (Zmeyev), head of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem, and his deputy, hegumen Nikon (Golovko), visited the Patriarchate of Jerusalem and participated in the divine service celebrated on the patronal feast in the central monastery’s church.
Presiding over the festal service was His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos III of the Holy City of Jerusalem and All Palestine.
The service was attended by hierarchs and clerics of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem; archimandrite Ioann (Meiu), representative of the Romanian Orthodox Mission in Jerusalem; sisters of the Gorny Convent in Ein Karem; Russian-speaking believers residing in Jerusalem; and numerous Christians fr om the Holy City and its environs.
The service was celebrated in Greek, Arabic and Church Slavonic, website of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission reports.
After the Divine Liturgy, pilgrims and clergy led by Patriarch Theophilos proceeded to the Throne Hall of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem, wh ere a festive reception took place.
At the end of the reception, archimandrite Vassian and hegumen Nikon congratulated Patriarch Theophilos on the patronal feast and asked for his primatial blessing upon their further work in the field of church diplomacy.
