The Holy Synod calls down God’s blessing on the newly-elected Metropolitan of All Japan Seraphim.

On 11th October 2023 at the session of the Holy Synod of the Russia Orthodox Church His Holiness the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill was informed of the election of the Primate of the Japanese Autonomous Orthodox Church.
On 10th August 2023 the Metropolitan of Tokyo and All Japan Daniel reposed in the Lord. On 28th September 2023 a Council of the Japanese Autonomous Orthodox Church was held in Tokyo at which the bishop of Sendai Seraphim was elected Primate. On the same day, in accordance with the Tomos on Autonomy for the Japanese Orthodox Church (paragraph 1) and the Statute of the Russian Orthodox Church (chapter XI, paragraph 5), His Holiness the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, upon receiving the report of archbishop Seraphim on the resolution adopted by the Council, confirmed the election through his own decree.
The Holy Synod resolved to called down God’s blessing on the labours of His Eminence the Archbishop of Tokyo and Metropolitan of Japan Seraphim throughout the land of Japan.
