Bishop of the Church of Greece assures the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of his prayerful support in this difficult time for Orthodoxy
A conversation took place between the metropolitan of Corfu, Paxoi and Diapontian Islands Nectarius with a hierarch of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church the metropolitan of Cherkasy and Kaniv Theodosius, who had come to Corfu (Greece) on a pilgrimage to venerate the relics of St. Spyridon of Trimythous, the press service of the diocese of Cherkasy stated on 5th September 2021.
During the discussion the bishops talked about the serious situation that has arisen in world Orthodoxy and the possibilities of a way out from it within the canonical rules and norms of the Holy Orthodox Church.
Metropolitan Theodosius conveyed to metropolitan Nectarius friendly greetings and kind wishes from His Beatitude Onuphrius the Metropolitan of Kiev and All Ukraine. In turn the Greek Orthodox metropolitan Nectarius assured the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of his prayerful support at this difficult time for the whole world and the Orthodox Church.
The meeting was attended by the auxiliary bishop of the Cherkassy diocese the bishop of Korsun-Shevchenkivskyi Anthony.
Earlier the bishops celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Church of St. Spyridon by his incorruptible relics. Joining the bishops in prayer were priests and numerous pilgrims from Ukraine.
