New church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, built in place of the old one captured by schismatics, was blessed in Rovno region
The new church was built by the faithful of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church after the church of St. Michael was captured by the “OCU” supporters.
With a blessing of Metropolitan Varfolomey of Rovno and Ostrog, the office of consecration and the Divine Liturgy were celebrated by Bishop Pimen of Duben, vicar of the of the Diocese of Rovno.
His concelebrants were Archpriest Alexander Yegorov, secretary of the diocese, Archpriest Yuriy Shevchuk, dean of the Zdolbuniv district, Archpriest Alexander Stetsyuk, rector of the church, and clergy of the diocese.
At the Lesser Entrance, Archpriest Alexander was awarded the right to wear a decorated cross.
The Liturgy was followed by a festive thanksgiving.
Bishop Pimen congratulated the rector and parishioners on the consecration of the church. Archpriest Alexander thanked His Grace and all those present for their prayers and spiritual support.
“OCU” supporters seized the church of St. Michael the Archangel of God on March 1, 2019. The construction of the new church began in the Bushcha village on October 17, 2019. The design was developed one of the clerics of the Diocese of Rovno. The land for the church was donated by Maria Kondratyuk, a local villager.
