A pilgrimage to the church of the Holy Apostle Peter in Bradwell-on-Sea (VII century)
The Divine Liturgy was celebrated in the ancient church and pilgrims from London, Bristol, Romford and various towns of the county of Kent prayed and received the Holy Mysteries of Christ. After the meal, the pilgrims served an akathist to Saint Cedd, the Apostle of Essex (VII c.).
The Church of St. Peter in Bradwell-on-Sea in the county of Essex is the oldest functioning church in England, which has never been rebuilt. It was built in 654 on the foundations of a Roman fort by one of the baptizers of the British Isles, St. Cedd. The appearance of the church has remained unchanged from the 7th century until to the present day.
