Schismatics capture a church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Khmelnitskyi region

On April 18, 2021, supporters of the ‘Orthodox Church of Ukraine’ fraudulently captured the church of St. Parascheva of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church at the Tsvitokha village, Slavuta district, Khmelnitskyi region. A report about it came to the Telegram channel ‘Vitrazh Inform’ fr om the rector of the parish, Archpriest George Kimeichuk.

The priest reported that the OCU supporters made use of the military from the local unit. They cut off the locks of the church door to install new ones and set up guards for the night.

At present, the rector and parishioners are deciding wh ere to hold worship services.

According to Father George, the schismatics managed to hold an unlawful meeting of villagers and to transfer the religious community of the canonical Church to the jurisdiction of the ‘OCU’. The faithful have brought an action against the schismatics’ activities.
