Head of Russian Ecclesiastical Mission meets with His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos of Jerusalem

On 7^th August 2026, His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos III of the Holy City of Jerusalem and All Palestine received Archimandrite Vassian (Zmeyev), Head of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem. Father Vassian was accompanied by Archpriest Vladimir Chernyshev, newly appointed cleric of the Mission, and Nun Yekaterina (Kopyl).

During the meeting, which took place at the Patriarchate of Jerusalem, Archimandrite Vassian introduced Father Vladimir Chernyshev, who had been assigned by the Supreme Authority of the Russian Orthodox Church to serve at the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem, to His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos, the Mission’s website reports.

His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos and Archimandrite Vassian (Zmeyev) also discussed various matters pertaining to the ministry in the Holy Land.
