Victims of the 2016 Terrorist Attack in Nice Commemorated at Local St. Nicholas Cathedral

On 14th July 2026, on the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attack which had killed 86 people on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice, France, a memorial service for its victims was celebrated in the local St. Nicholas Cathedral.
Among those killed in the attack were Orthodox Christians, including parishioners of St. Nicholas Cathedral. During the memorial service, all Orthodox victims were commemorated by name, website of the Korsun Diocese reports.
After the memorial service, the church rector, Archpriest Andrei Yeliseyev, delivered a sermon. He spoke of the tragic events which had happened ten years ago, of which he himself had been an eyewitness, and shared his recollections of the victims he had personally known. Father Andrei encouraged all those present to keep praying for the innocent people who had fallen victim to the evil human will.
‘Memory Eternal’ was sung in conclusion of the memorial service to commemorate all those killed in the terrorist attack.
