Deputy Chairman of the DECR met with participants of the Summer School “Religion, Law and International Relations”

On July 1, a meeting was held at the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate between the Deputy Chairman of the DECR, Archpriest Igor Vyazhanov, and participants of the Summer School “Religion, Law and International Relations,” organized jointly by the National Research University “Higher School of Economics,” the Scientific-Educational Theological Association, the Moscow Theological Academy, and the General Church Postgraduate and Doctoral Studies named after Saints Equal-to-the-Apostles Cyril and Methodius.
Archpriest Igor Vyazhanov introduced the guests to the principles of operation of the synodal department and the key areas of the external activities of the Russian Orthodox Church.
The meeting was attended by Professor of the Higher School of Jurisprudence and Administration of the NRU HSE V.V. Mochalov, Head of the Administrative Department of the Higher School of Jurisprudence and Administration, manager of the educational program “Religious Diplomacy in a Multipolar World” A.V. Gusev, and an employee of the DECR Secretariat for Far Abroad Affairs, Hieromonk Kirill (Peregudin).
The listeners of the Summer School, which is being held this year for the third time, are students, postgraduate students, and young scholars from organizations that are members of the Scientific-Educational Theological Association. The training program includes meetings with representatives of the administration and leading lecturers of the NRU HSE, the Moscow Theological Academy, and the General Church Postgraduate and Doctoral Studies, a visit to the Holy-Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius, and a varied cultural program.
One of the goals of the school is to acquaint potential applicants with the new master’s program “Religious Diplomacy in a Multipolar World,” which will be implemented by the NRU HSE in partnership with the General Church Postgraduate and Doctoral Studies and the DECR.
