Clergy of four West African countries concelebrate with Patriarchal Exarch of Africa at Divine Liturgy in Côte d’Ivoire’s capital

On 21st April 2026, Metropolitan Konstantin of Cairo and North Africa, Patriarchal Exarch of Africa, arrived in Abidjan, capital of Côte d’Ivoire. Among those accompanying him on his visit was Priest George Maximov, Chairman of the Missionary Department of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa.
On 22nd April, Metropolitan Konstantin celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Parish of St. Seraphim of Sarov in Abidjan. Concelebrating with him were Priest George Maximov and the clergy of the West African Deanery, namely, Priest Parthenios Dansou, dean of the West African Church District and rector of the St. Seraphim of Sarov Parish; Priest Nicholas Nsho (Côte d’Ivoire), cleric of the St. Seraphim of Sarov Parish; Priest Stephan Assongba and Priest Eugine Djossou (Benin); Priest Luke Somda (Burkina Faso); and Priest Boris Pitasso (Togo).
After the divine service, the Patriarchal Exarch greeted the clergy and parishioners and delivered a homily. Metropolitan Konstantin presented icons of the Saviour and the Most Holy Theotokos to the parish and handed out Easter eggs to those present, Telegram channel of the Exarchate reports.
Later that day, the archpastor convened a meeting of clerics of the West African Deanery to discuss various issues of church life in the countries of their service. After the meeting, Metropolitan Konstantin talked with each clergyman individually.
