Celebrations take place in Zurich marking 90th anniversary of Holy Resurrection Parish

On 19^th April 2026, Second Sunday of Easter, Saint Thomas Sunday, Metropolitan Mark of Korsun and Western Europe, Patriarchal Exarch of Western Europe, paid a Paschal archpastoral visit to the largest community of the Russian Orthodox Church in Switzerland – the Holy Resurrection Parish in Zurich.

The archpastor officiated at the Divine Liturgy in the Holy Resurrection Church. Among his concelebrants were Archpriest Mikhail Zeman, rector of the church; Archimandrite Martin (de Calfisch), abbot of the Holy Trinity Monastery in Dompierre; Priest Maxim Politov, secretary of the Korsun Diocesan Administration; Archpriest Sergy Baburin, rector of the Church of the Holy Righteous John of Kronstadt in Hamburg, Germany; Archpriest Branimir Petković, a cleric of the Serbian Orthodox Church; Archpriest Jordan Pashev, a cleric of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church; Priest Daniil Naberezhny and Deacon Roman Onika, who were accompanying Metropolitan Mark on his visit; as well as clerics of the church and clergy of the Switzerland Deanery, website of the Korsun Diocese reports.

By a decree of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ and on the occasion of the 90^th anniversary of the parish’s establishment, its rector, Archpriest Mikhail Zeman, was granted the right to celebrate the Divine Liturgy with the Royal Doors open until the Cherubic Hymn.

After the Liturgy, the Patriarchal message was read out, marking the 90^th anniversary of the Holy Resurrection Parish in Zurich.

Metropolitan Mark delivered a homily and extended greetings to the rector and parishioners on the occasion of the Feast of the Radiant Resurrection of Christ, the 90^th anniversary of the parish and the patronal feast.

A number of clerics and parishioners of the Holy Resurrection Church received Patriarchal awards.

After that, an Easter concert took place in the parish hall, organized by the choir and members of the local community.
