Head and clergy of Russian Ecclesiastical Mission extend Easter greetings to Patriarch Theophilos of Jerusalem

On 13^th April 2026, Bright Monday, Archimandrite Vassian (Zmeyev), head of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem, together with the Mission’s clergy and members of staff, attended an official reception given by His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos III of the Holy City of Jerusalem and All Palestine in the Great Throne Hall of the Jerusalem Patriarchate on the occasion of the Feast of Holy Pascha.

Among those present were also hierarchs and clerics of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem; clergy of the Holy Sepulchre Brotherhood; Archimandrite Roman (Krasovsky), head of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia; Mother Yekaterina (Chernysheva), abbess of the Gorny Convent in Ein Kerem, and sisters of the abode; as well as numerous representatives of the Orthodox Christian community in Jerusalem, public officials and pilgrims.

During the reception, a choir of graduates of the Sretenskaya Theological Academy gave a concert, performing Paschal hymns in the Church Slavonic and Greek languages, website of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission reports.

Archimandrite Vassian conveyed to His Beatitude Patriarch Thelophilos Easter greetings from His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ and the Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations, Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk. After that, the head and the clergy of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission extended their own Paschal greetings to His Beatitude, presenting to him Easter gifts and flowers.

His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos warmly greeted the Russian clergy and sisters of the Gorny Convent, thanked them for their gifts and exchanged with them the Paschal triple kiss.
