Phone conversation took place between the Primates of Russian and Serbian Orthodox Churches

On 16^th November 2024, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ and His Holiness Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia had a telephone conversation. His Holiness Patriarch Kirill told his interlocutor about the present-day ecclesiastical life of the Russian Orthodox Church and about the challenges it is facing in these trying times. His Holiness Patriarch Porfirije said in his turn that the Serbian Orthodox people remain unwavering in their sincere love for the Russian people, their brothers and sisters in faith. The Serbian Patriarch also spoke about the Serbian Orthodox Church’s fraternal support for the Russian Orthodox Church. The two Patriarchs assured each other of their prayers.

The Primates were joined in the conversation by Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations, and Metropolitan Irinej of Bačka.
