Raiders cut locks off the doors of the UOC church in Chernivtsi region
DECR Communication Service, 11/09/2024
On September 10, in Zeleniv village, Chernivtsi region, Ukraine, the OCU raiders seized the Church of Archangel Michael of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the Union of Orthodox Journalists reports citing a social media post of the Press Service of the Diocese of Chernivtsi and Bukovina.
“The act of desecration was committed on the eve of the commemoration day of the Beheading of St. John the Baptist,” the post says, “the OCU activists used an angle grinder to cut the locks off the church doors and smashed the window to break in and leave the building.”
According to Orthodox Bukovinians, such an act reminds more of barbarism than Christianity.
