Rector of St. Nicholas Cathedral in New York attends reception at Russia’s Consulate General

On June 15, the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in New York City, USA, hosted a reception timed to Russia Day, which is celebrated annually on June 12. Among those who attended the event was Archpriest Igor Vyzhanov, rector of St. Nicholas Patriarchal Cathedral.
At the beginning of the reception, guests were addressed by Mr Aleksandr Zakharov, Consul General of the Russian Federation in New York; Ms Tatyana Deptola, President of the New Russia Cultural Center in Albany, NY, and Archpriest Igor Vyzhanov, website of the Patriarchal parishes in the USA reports.
As the rector of St. Nicholas Cathedral pointed out in his speech, a thousand-year history and cultural heritage of Russia is what makes it necessary for Russian people to learn the history of their family and their homeland and be faithful to their culture.
