Dean of the metochion of the Russian Orthodox Church in Bulgaria visits the Pushkin Ball at Russia House in Sofia.

On 7th June in the Marble Hall of Russia House in the Bulgarian capital of Sofia the Pushkin Ball was held, which is an annual literary and musical event. In 2024 the event was dedicated to the 225th anniversary of the birth of the great Russian poet Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin and Russian Language Day.
This is a traditional holiday for Russian language teachers, directors and pupils of Bulgarian schools, students and philologists, and graduates of Russian institutes of higher learning, and is also attended by Bulgarian public figures and Russian diplomats headed by the Russian ambassador to Bulgaria Eleonora Mitrofanova.
Attending the festive evening was the representative of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia to Bulgaria the dean of the metochion of the Russian Orthodox Church in Sofia archpriest Vladimir Tyschuk, reports the metochion website.
The Russian Chamber Orchestra gave a dramatized
production of Pushkin’s works. Selections from the works of the great poet, and romances and arias from operas based on his verse were also performed.
