DECR chairman celebrates at the Church of St. Philip the Apostle in OAE on the feast of the Exaltation of the Cross

On September 27, the feast of the Exaltation of the Holy and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord, Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations (DECR), celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the church of St. Philip the Apostle in Sharjah, the United Arab Emirates.

Concelebrating with the archpastor were Archimandrite Alexander (Zarkeshev), rector of the church; Hieromonk Stefan (Igumnov), DECR secretary for inter-Christian relations; Rev. Alexander Yershov, assistant to the DECR chairman; and clerics of the church.

After the dismissal the hierarch delivered a sermon and conveyed blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ to the parishioners.

That same say Metropolitan Anthony departed for India.
