On April 18, Metropolitan Savva, the newly elected head of the Archdiocese of Antiochian Patriarchate in North America, met with Archpriest Igor Vyzhanov, Chancellor of Patriarchal Parishes in the USA. The meeting took place in the Administrative Center of the Antiochian Orthodox Church in the USA.
Archpriest Thomas Zayn, Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Antioch, and Priest Mark Rashkov, Vice-Chancellor of Patriarchal Parishes in the USA, also took part in the conversation.
Archpriest Igor Vyzhanov conveyed to Metropolitan Savva the Paschal greetings from Bishop Matthew, interim administrator of Patriarchal parishes in the USA and congratulated him on his election as Primate of the self-governing Antiochian Orthodox Archdiocese of North America with the title "Archbishop of New York and Metropolitan of All North America," which took place in the Antiochian Patriarchate on February 23rd, 2023.
The participants of the meeting discussed various issues of interaction between the Antiochian Church and the parishes of the Moscow Patriarchate in the USA. The traditionally good nature of the existing relations was emphasized and the fact that representatives of the Moscow Patriarchate are the first of the officials of the Local Orthodox Churches with whom Metropolitan Savva meets upon his arrival in America was noted, according to the website of the Patriarchal parishes.
