Bishop Pitirim of Jakarta meets with compatriots in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar

On October 2, with a blessing of Metropolitan Sergiy of Singapore and South-East Asia, Patriarchal Exarch for South-East Asia, administrator of the Diocese of Thailand Bishop Pitirim of Jakarta began his archpastoral visit to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.
Upon his arrival in Yangon, Bishop Pitirim celebrated a thanksgiving at the Russian embassy in Myanmar and met with the staff of the diplomatic mission, members of their families and compatriots residing in the country. His Grace informed them about the aim of his visit to Myanmar and answered their questions.
His Grace gifted the embassy with an Icon ‘The Image of the Lord Jesus Christ-not-Made-by-Hands’. In memory of the meeting, all those who came for it were presented with small icons with a blessing of Metropolitan Sergiy of Singapore and South-East Asia, reports the website of the Patriarchal Exarchate for South-East Asia.
After the meeting, Bishop Pitirim had a talk with the Russian ambassador in Myanmar, Mr. N. A. Listopadov. They were joined by Hegumen Pavel (Khokhlov), a cleric of the Diocese of Singapore.
