A group of pilgrims from Ukrainian Orthodox Church visits Serbian Orthodox Church’s diocese of Bač
On May 8, 2021, the Saturday of the Bright Week, the feast of the Holy Apostle and Evangelist Mark, a group of the faithful of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church led by the chairman of its Synodal Department for the Youth, Archbishop Jonah of Obukhov, and Archpriest Vladimir Tukalo, visited the diocese of Bač of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
During their journey, the pilgrims met in particular with Bishop Irenej of Novi Sad and Bač, reports the IOC Information-Education Department with reference to the official website of the diocese of Bač of the Serbian Church.
Bishop Irinej received the guests from Ukraine in the hall of the church administration in the city of Novi Sad. The meeting was also attended by Bishop Isihije of Mohacs, vicar of the diocese of Bač, and chaplain Archpriest Georgiy Stoisavlevic of the Novi Sad clergy.
The hierarch of the Serbian Church wished to the clergy and faithful of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church a pleasant stay in Serbia during their pilgrimage to the holy places of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
On behalf of the faithful of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Archbishop Jonah thanked Bishop Irenej for the hospitality.
Then the pilgrims visited the Novi Sad cathedral and the Monastery of the Holy Archangels Michael and Gabriel in Kovil.
In the course of their pilgrimage, the faithful of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church will also visit the Serbian Orthodox Church’s monasteries: Krusedol, Velika-Remeta, Ćelije, Lelić, Manasia and Sopoćani.
