Representative of Russian Ecclesiastical Mission takes part in divine service celebrated at Church of the Holy Sepulchre on the Adoration of the Cross Sunday

On 4 th April 2021, the third Sunday in Lent, on which the Adoration of the Precious and Life-Giving Cross is celebrated, His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos III of the Holy City of Jerusalem and All Palestine officiated at the Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. On this day, a cross with a particle of the Precious Cross is brought from the sacristy for adoration. Hieromonk Afanasy (Bukin), a treasurer of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission, took part in the celebration with the blessing of Archimandrite Aleksandr (Yelisov), head of the Mission.

That same day the head of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Jerusalem. Hegumen Nikon (Golovko) and Deacon Ilia Drachuk concelebrated. After the Liturgy, the clerics venerated the Cross at the centre of the church.
