Serbian Patriarch meets with Russian Ambassador to Serbia
The participants in the meeting, held on the premises of the Serbian Patriarchate in Belgrade, discussed various topics pertaining to the history and current state of relationships between the brotherly peoples of Serbia and Russia, as well as prospects of further development and strengthening of these friendly ties.
The Primate of the Serbian Orthodox Church thanked Mr. Botsan-Kharchenko for the visit and for his commitment to promoting cooperation between the two brotherly nations at all levels. The head of Russia’s diplomatic representation in Belgrade thanked Patriarch Porfirije for the warm welcome and expressed appreciation for His Holiness’s selfless labours aimed at building up peaceful and constructive interfaith relations in the Western Balkans.
Among those present at the meeting were also Bishop David of Kruševac, member of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church; Mr. Andrei Tamyashov, Minister-Counsellor of the Russian Embassy in Serbia; and Deacon Aleksandar Prascevic, head of the Office of the Serbian Patriarch.
