Tsar Simeon II of Bulgaria arrives in Moscow at the invitation of Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church
On 26 April 2013, Tsar Simeon II of Bulgaria arrived in Moscow at the invitation of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia. He is accompanied on his visit by his private secretary, Dr. Ivaylo Shafalov.
At the Sheremetyevo Airport, Tsar Simeon was met by Bishop Savva of Voskresensk, abbot of the Novospassky Stavropegic Monastery; Archimandrite Philip (Vasiltsev), representative of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia to the Patriarch of Bulgaria; Archimandrite Feoktist (Dimitrov), representative of the Patriarch of Bulgaria to the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia; and DECR staff members, Rev. Mikhail Bodanov and hierodeacon Roman (Kiselev).
During his visit, Tsar Simeon II of Bulgaria will meet with His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, and with Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations.
The high guest will attend the Patriarchal service at the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour on the Feast Day of the Entry of Our Lord into Jerusalem and will visit the Community of Ss Martha and Mary, the Vysokopetrovsky and Novospassky Monasteries, and the Church of the “Joy to All the Afflicted” Icon of the Mother of God in Bolshaya Ordynka street.
Tsar Simeon II of Bulgaria will complete his visit to Moscow on April 29.
