Deputy Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations Meets with Representatives of the International Charitable Foundation “Kirche in Not”

On March 13, a meeting took place at the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate between Archpriest Igor Yakimchuk, Deputy Chairman of the DECR, and representatives of the international charitable foundation “Kirche in Not” (“Aid to the Church in Need”): the foundation’s spiritual director, Father Anton Lesser; Director of the Project Department Marco Mengalia; and Head of the “Russia, Central Asia and the Caucasus” Department P.V. Gumenyuk.

Also taking part in the meeting were Hieromonk Stefan (Igumnov), Secretary of the DECR for Inter-Christian Relations, and M.B. Nelyubova, an employee of the Secretariat for Inter-Christian Relations.

During the conversation, the parties exchanged views on current issues of cooperation. In particular, the results of the activities of the Joint Working Group of the Russian Orthodox Church and the Roman Catholic Church were discussed.
