Mayor of the Mongolian Capital Visits the Holy Trinity Church in Ulaanbaatar
DECR Communication service, 05.03.2026.
On March 4, the Holy Trinity Church in Ulaanbaatar was visited by the Mayor of the capital of Mongolia, Khishgeegiin Nyambaatar.
During the visit, the mayor became acquainted with the parish grounds, visited the gym operating at the church, and also the church itself. Acting rector of the Holy Trinity parish, Priest Vladislav Ratnikov, gave the distinguished guest a brief tour in the Mongolian language with the assistance of an interpreter. He spoke about the history of the Orthodox community in Mongolia and about the present-day life of the parish.
Special attention was given to the church’s shrines. The mayor of Ulaanbaatar heard about the icon of the Mother of God “Self-Inscribed,” as well as about the venerated icons of the Holy Right-Believing Prince Peter, Tsarevich of the Horde, and the great Orthodox missionary St. Innocent of Irkutsk.
At the conclusion of the visit, Khishgeegiin Nyambaatar was presented with a book by Priest Vladislav Terentyev, “Orthodox Mongolia: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow,” published in 2024 for the 160th anniversary of the Orthodox parish in Ulaanbaatar.
