Hierarch of the Antiochian Orthodox Church сalls for prayer for Metropolitan Arseny of Svyatogorsk
DECR Communication service, 11.11.2025
Metropolitan Isaac of Germany and Central Europe (Antiochian Orthodox Church) issued a statement in defense of Metropolitan Arseny of Svyatogorsk. The text of Metropolitan Isaac’s message, originally posted on one of his social media pages, was published by the Union of Orthodox Journalists website in Germany.
Metropolitan Isaac emphasized that he follows the fate of Metropolitan Arseny “with deep sorrow,” calling him “a brother in episcopal service who has for many years ministered to his people with love, humility, and selfless devotion.”
According to the hierarch of the Antiochian Church, the life and ministry of Metropolitan Arseny represent a vivid example of genuine pastoral love: “he remained with his people, comforting those who suffer and helping those in need.”
“I sincerely pray to the Lord that He may strengthen Metropolitan Arseny, grant him both physical and spiritual healing, and soon reveal His justice and mercy in this matter,” Metropolitan Isaac said.
The archpastor appealed to the faithful, saying: “I ask all who hear or read these words to join me in prayer for his swift release, for his health, and for peace in the Church and the country. May the Lord Himself shine His light upon this dark situation and grant us all the courage to stand firm in the truth and love of Christ.”
According to media reports, on November 3 the Dnipro court again ordered Metropolitan Arseny of Svyatogorsk to be taken into custody, despite his serious health condition. He had already spent a year and a half in pre-trial detention and had been released on bail.
